[3.3.x] Support Forum • Re: File system vs database?

For full backup and/or to move a forum other than the DB you need:

config.php - contains database credentials, this will need to edited if the credentials differ on new server
/files - this contains attachments
/images - this is where avatars and custom smilies are uploaded

Optionally you may need:
/ext - you need this if you installed any extensions
/styles - you need this if you installed any custom styles
/language - you need this if you installed another language
/store - this contains DB backups created in ACP
